WINDOWS TINTING

Tinting your windows is one way to make your car more respectable and cosy. Darker glass gives your car a beautiful effect and has a practical value – it protects rear seat passengers from glare from the sun.

Tinting the windows gives the car a more prestigious look but also makes the cabin much safer. Firstly, objects left in the car become invisible to passers-by. Secondly, tinted glass does not shatter in the event of an impact or accident, but gives the effect of laminated glass.

Klaaside toonimine

When tinting the glass, we recommend choosing the film with the optimum transparency to avoid compromising visibility. In addition, glass tinting should also take into account the driver’s driving experience and safety. Tinted film reduces visibility, for example when reversing in the dark without a rear view camera.

We must remind you that tinting of vehicle front windscreen is not allowed in Estonia.

TINTING WITH ATHERMAL SUN PROTECTION FILM

The installation of an athermal film helps to maintain the temperature in the cabin and avoid excessive heating. Athermal, or sunscreen, prevents ultraviolet rays and heat from passing through the glass, so it has better properties than a standard clay film.

The athermal film is coated with a sprayed graphite layer that blocks ultraviolet rays and prevents heat from penetrating in and out of the cabin. This allows the vehicle cabin to be protected from excessive UV radiation and heat. The effect is particularly noticeable when the vehicle is left in the open in direct sunlight for long periods. The temperature difference between the interior of a shielded vehicle and a non- shielded vehicle can be up to 20 degrees Celsius (C). This difference is particularly noticeable in a leather upholstered cabin. The seats do not heat up as much and do not burn exposed body parts.

The arthermal protection film is available in different colours (purple, blue or brown). To achieve the best possible result, we only use premium grade Xpel Prime series shields for tinting the glass.

For example:

  • Xpel Prime XR Plus film, which repels up to 98% of heat radiation and 99% of UV radiation.
  • Xpel Prime XR film, which blocks up to 88% of heat and 99% of UV radiation.
  • Xpel Prime HP, which blocks up to 46% of heat and 99% of UV radiation.

For information!: By installing an athermal film on your car windscreen, you also save on your car’s air conditioning, as keeping the temperature normal means you don’t have to use the air conditioning as much.

TINT FILM REMOVAL

Removing the sun protection film may seem like a simple operation – just grab the edge and pull. In reality, removing the film requires the same skills as installing it.

Removing the tinted film can damage the glass, the cabin or even the bodywork. Trying to peel the film off yourself with a blade tool can seriously damage the glass, leading to even greater costs. The same goes for the time involved. Removing the tinted film yourself takes many times more time than it does for professionals.

It is also worth remembering that it is illegal in Estonia to drive a vehicle with a dark tinted windscreen. So, if you have already received a warning, or your vehicle has failed a car inspection test, we can help you remove the tint.

We have years of experience in installing and removing tinted films. We remove films to a high quality standard so that the bodywork, door cushions and windows of your vehicle are not damaged.

This is due to the use of water-based wax when applying the films. The spots will disappear within 1-2 weeks after the film has completely dried. This means that the films are applied to the glass wet - a special water solution is sprayed under the film, then the film is applied to the glass and the water is removed from under the film with a spatula. The spots are caused by the fact that the water is partially trapped under the film and dries out within a few days. The speed of drying depends on the temperature. Windows can only be opened once the spots have disappeared.

With careful use, a good quality film can last 10 years or more. In most cases, the need to replace the film is more likely to arise from mechanical damage to the film surface.

It is recommended to use gentle cleaning products, avoid abrasive tools and be careful not to scratch the film.

es, although it is advisable to seek professional help to avoid possible damage. Removing the film can leave film adhesive on the panes of glass, which if not removed will prevent the glass from moving up and down. It is essential to remove any adhesive left on the glass, as the components or motors of the glass lifter may break if overloaded.
