Ceramic coating.
What it is?

CERAMIC WAX FOR YOUR CAR

Automotive ceramic wax, also known as liquid glass (ceramic), is a protective layer applied to the car’s body, ensuring long-term durability against various environmental factors. Ceramic protection for car bodywork creates a resilient layer on the paint that shields it from scratches, winter salts, dirt, UV radiation, and other outdoor elements. Applying ceramic coating to a car makes washing easier, enhances shine, and extends the life of the paintwork.

COMPOSITION OF CERAMIC PROTECTION

The main ingredient of ceramic wax is SiO2, or liquid silicon dioxide. It forms a protective layer that is nearly 10 times more durable than regular wax. Additionally, ceramic wax contains various silicates and polymers that provide strength and resistance to wear. The high silicon dioxide content ensures a hardness of up to 9H, making it highly resistant to scratches. Ceramic coatings with higher silicon dioxide content offer longer-lasting protection because they adhere better to the car’s paintwork. Coatings with lower silicon dioxide content provide better water repellency.

HISTORY

The precursor to modern paint protection products can be traced back to the wax invented in Germany in the 1800s. It was made from animal fat and used to apply a protective layer to carriage paintwork. This was the world’s first known product designed to protect paint surfaces. Over the following decades, similar waxes were developed. With the advancement of the automotive industry, car manufacturers also recognized the potential of this product and began refining it to achieve even more durable results.

The first ceramic protective product was formulated after the American chemical company DuPont invented a hermetic polymer. In the 1970s, European car manufacturers introduced the first ceramic paint protection products, but it wasn’t until the 2000s that product innovation progressed to provide protection against UV radiation and acid rain.

Decades of product development and testing have brought us into the era of ceramic protection based on nanotechnology. Modern ceramic coatings are so effective that they protect against almost everything, from dirt and scratches to graffiti and corrosion.

BENEFITS OF CERAMIC WAX FOR YOUR CAR

  • Scratch Resistance: Ceramic wax creates a strong layer that protects the car’s paintwork from scratches and minor damage, helping to keep the car looking pristine for longer.
  • UV Protection: Ceramic coatings shield the car’s paintwork from UV radiation, which can cause fading and dullness. This helps maintain color intensity and shine.
  • Chemical Resistance: Ceramic protection is resistant to various chemicals, including detergents, salts, and acidic raindrops, keeping the car’s body protected and easy to maintain.
  • Hydrophobicity: Ceramic coating makes the car’s body water-repellent. Water and dirt slide off easily, making car washing easier and keeping the car clean.
  • Long-lasting Protection: Ceramic protection is a long-term investment. When properly applied, it can last for several years, reducing the need for frequent waxing.

APPLICATION AREAS OF CERAMIC PROTECTION

Ceramic coating for cars isn’t the only product available; ceramic protection is also available for other materials and components. Ceramic protection can be applied to various car components:

  • For protecting car windows: Ceramic coating for windows makes them water-repellent, improving visibility in rainy weather.
  • For protecting leather seats: Leather ceramic keeps leather seats clean and protected.
  • For protecting wheels: Wheel ceramic shields wheels from salts, dirt, and scratches.
  • For protecting plastic: Plastic ceramic provides durability and shine to plastic components.

Ceramic wax for cars is an effective way to protect paintwork and maintain its shine for a long time. This is especially important in the Estonian climate, where moisture and salt are the main causes of corrosion. Applying ceramic coating to your car is the easiest and most cost-effective way to keep your car looking eye-catching.
